CIVIC golf is powered by OpenStreetMap. An open data platform built by a community of volunteer mappers.
It already data for thousands of courses, but not all of them. You can help by adding your local courses, and when you do, you’ll be able to use them in the app. It’s easy and also kind of fun!
I’m planning to create tools to help do this. They’ll help with things like validating courses, more easily editing scorecard details (pars, handicaps, etc.), and adding completed courses to the app. But I’m not quite there yet…
In the meantime, you can watch the following video that I created on how to add courses, and if you complete one that you’d like added to the app, please contact me.
NOTE: Newly added courses should automatically appear in the search results within 30 days of being added (assuming they’re properly tagged as leisure=golf_course), but they won’t be marked as Available unless I specifically add them to the app. Contact me for that.
